Scottish Country Dancing by Kieran and Gavin

In primary 7 we have been practicing scottish songs and dances and poems. One of the poems is ‘to a louse’ and ‘The Ballad of Janitor Mackay’ and i would like to introduce sarah who would like to tell us how she likes the scottish dance and poems. “I like doing the dance but at first it was hard but I think we learn by the experience. I am dancing with my best friend erin and we thought it was awkward but we have passed that stage and we think it's no big deal.” I thought that the dance was hard to do but it was so fun. On Tuesday the 17 of January 2017 me and my class for gym we went and did a Scottish Performance. Me and my class like the Scottish Dancing the teacher said “ Primary 7 do you like doing Scottish Dancing”. We said “ yes”.

Divided City by Sarah

P7 have been doing a drama performance called Divided City. The activities are very fun. I find this song is very catchy it's called divided city it goes like this- can we unite this divided city! Mrs Ramsay and Miss Mckinley have taught us some songs in the classroom. In my opinion I love singing so I personally love divided city. I love how fun the activities are very fun. I'm going to interview gavin on how he enjoys divided city “i think that divided city i love the songs oh and also the drama some of the songs are hard but my favorite song is i play for glasgow and during that song i am one of the footballers and i have to go into the middle during the song” I hope you enjoyed Gavins comment on Divided City. I am so lucky to get the chance to do Divided City.

Bridges by Mudathir

On the 12th of January 2017 we went to build a bridge was an cable stayed bridge. The first thing we did was put or helmets on and put or high vest jacket and they told us our jobs. Then we got to connect all the stuff till the were all together and put on tight one of the groups were fast and the other team took long. A the end we all got to walk on the bridge to see if it will be able to hold or weights it was shaking a lot at one time all the teacher went on to have a shot. At the end we needed to take all the stuff out and after we got given small toys.

On the 12 of january 2017 ICE(INSTITUTION of Civil ENGINEER) came and showed the p7’s how to build a bridge. The type of bridge was a cable stayed, we got split up into 2 groups and we had to where a high vis vest. First we have to put our helmets on, Next we need to get the first panel then we stuck the cables on to it, we done the same with all the other panels until both sides joined and we had to put bolts in the middle so it’s joined up and doesn’t fall apart. When we finished the bridge everyone was allowed to walk on it. When some people went on it sort of wobbled but it was secure and no one fell off.

1.The first thing we did was, we got our high vests jackets and our helmets on then got told our duties. 2.I had to go and get a board numbered 12 3. After that, because it was a cable stayed bridge we had to connect it to big fat metal cables but it's much more complicated than that but it's hard to explain. 4.There was 5/4 different types of sizes extra small small medium large extra large ( that's just off the top of my head but i'm sure it’s right) 5.Then we repeated the sequence and then when it was finished we had to take it apart for the other class.

On the 12th of January we had some people come into our school. Our teacher Mrs Ramsay split us into two groups then they gave us a hard hat each. There was white and there was red, I was on the red team. They split us into sections in our teams there was a cable section and there was a deck section the cable people each got a cable, the deck people got the decks and was sliding them in while the cable people were connecting the cables to it. The red team finished first. We waited for the white team to finish, they finished there was four bolts that finished the bridge I was giving one of the bolts. We were allowed to walk on one at a time we got mrs Ramsay to walk on it and we convinced her to DAB.
This is our head teacher Mr Wells she walked across the bridge too.

Science

In p7 we have been learning about micro-organisms with our teacher Mr Horan. we have been making mouldy bread, we got a bit of bread and sprinkled water on it then put it in a bag and cellotaped the bag shut and after a couple of days we looked at it and it was all mouldy. We looked at through a microscope and seen what organisms look like up close we done some activities looked at videos and we even made our own micro-organism we had to name them I did Joey virus it turns anyone i want into Joey Essex. This was us making bacteria dots. We done a science experiment on bananas and yeast we got 1 banana a sachet of yeast and 2 freezer bags in one of the the bags we put half a banana and sealed it and in the other bag we put the other half of the banana and the bag of yeast and sealed it we left it a few days. After the few days sealed we looked at them and the bag with just the half of a banana was a bit mushy but ok and the bag with the half of a banana and yeast was like liquid and it stunk. We had fun learning about micro-organisms and doing experiments.
